Awakening isn’t always a fanfare. Sometimes it tiptoes in like a wave at dusk — gentle, rhythmic, barely noticed. And other times? It crashes into your lived experience like a divine plot twist you didn’t see coming.
There are two signs I want to highlight — two unmistakable messengers of awakening. One is synchronicity. The other is discomfort.
Synchronicity is like a feather on the cheek. It’s soft, subtle, and often shows up when we’re not resisting life. You know the drill — the 111s, the 333s, the 11:11s. Numerology calls them master numbers. I call them divine winks. They arrive through chance encounters, intuitive nudges, and those eerie “how did that just happen?” moments. But they’re not coincidences. They’re choreography. And Love — genuine, unmanufactured Love — is the choreographer.
Sometimes you feel a wave of grief for no apparent reason, only to discover later that someone you love was in crisis. That’s not just empathy. That’s the dissolving of separation. The veil thins. You feel what’s real.
Now let’s talk about discomfort. It’s not punishment. It’s just a louder alarm clock. A cosmic nudge with a bullhorn. Discomfort shows up when your True Self is ready to wake up and remember itself. It might appear as financial strain, a relationship unraveling, or pain in the body. But none of these are punishments. They’re invitations. They’re saying, “Hey, you’re dreaming. It’s time to wake-up.”

So yes, synchronicities and discomfort are signs. But the most important sign of awakening — the one that doesn’t get flashy YouTube thumbnails — is when the mind and the heart fall in love.
Not just a casual date. I mean full-on union. No separation. No gatekeeping. The mind stops guarding the gate, and what walks through is genuine, nondual compassion. Not the kind you schedule into your phone’s calendar. The kind that just happens because you see yourself in everyone — even the ones you swore you’d never sit next to at a dinner party.
You see yourself in the tyrant, the abuser, the corrupt leader. I know, I know — that sounds extreme. But as awakening deepens, this becomes your lived experience. Judgment steps aside when we realize: if we’d lived their life, felt their pain, and carried their story, we might behave exactly the same. The heart opens. Not because you’re trying to be good or moral. But because you recognize Love is what you are.
You don’t try to love people. You just do. Effortlessly. Because the scaffolding around the heart is dissolving. And unless that’s happening, you’re not waking up. Not yet. And that’s okay. But let’s be clear — awakening is the unison of heart and mind. It’s alignment. And it deepens over time.
As the heart awakens, the scaffolding of judgment, resentment, and projection begins to dissolve in awareness. And in that seeing, the old patterns lose their grip. What unfolds is not a choice, but a natural return to Love.
That’s the real awakening. No glitter required.
