Your own self-realization is the greatest gift you can render the world.
~~Ramana Maharshi

If you are struggling with anything–whether it is what is currently happening in our country, or occurring in your personal life, or taking place elsewhere in the world–please know that all struggle originates from resisting the present moment. When something occurs that is undesirable, resistance arises from the refusal to accept it and from not being focused on the present reality. The mind may label these occurrences as “bad, wrong, or unacceptable.” Such conditioned thinking distracts from being present, leading to a focus on past events or potential future scenarios (fear). Your True Nature is inherently effortless and accepting of WHAT IS.
Old beliefs and thought patterns often resurface the past and project it into the future. However, in this very moment, is anything truly wrong? One cannot trust the mind, and only the individual holds the power to cease listening to it. You are not the thoughts that manifest. Conditioning leads to anxiety, anger, and fear then causes the body to constrict. You are not the bodily sensations. Focusing on your direct experience–what is occurring right here and now, is what is truly REAL. The Infinite Intelligence that animates everything living in this world is in control, not your mind.
When you awaken from the belief that you are merely a transient mind and body, fear will no longer govern you. Your True Nature is the awareness that is cognizant of what is happening, aware of how you are feeling, aware of what you are thinking, and is EFFORTLESS. It never struggles. This is not meant to dismiss what you are experiencing. However, the events unfolding in our country, and in our world, are part of the Cosmic Play being enacted, and you are not a participant in the play; you are an observer. Your sole focus needs only to be on what is truly present in your field of awareness, at this very moment. This focus allows you to abide with the Divine Being that you are–with What Is–and brings immediate peace.
Peace and struggle cannot coexist.
Much love to you.
