An Inconvenient Truth about Awakening: Game Over

The Inconvenient Truth is when we awaken, the ultimate egoic game of life is over. What is the game? It’s the game where I pretend I’m a person with certain strengths, weaknesses, neuroses, a past—probably a difficult one with bouts of happiness sprinkled throughout, hidden wounds, achievements, dreams, a few special relationships with people who have hurt me or at least, let me down, and I am the center of the Universe. It is the game where you pretend you are also a separate person and like me, you are defined by your economic status, profession, race, ethnicity, family history, gender, sexual preference, and reside in a body that has issues from time to time, is constantly aging and will die.

Not playing the game means embracing the present moment, recognizing that each breath, each heartbeat is a miracle in itself. This profound shift is not a journey towards becoming something new; it is a peeling away of the layers of falsehood that have obscured your true essence. It is the realization that the mind’s chatter, the endless pursuit of external validation, and the relentless drive to achieve are all distractions from the simple, profound truth that you are already whole, complete, and perfect.

Awakening is not a destination but a continuous unfolding, a deepening awareness of the interconnectedness of all life. It is a return to the natural state of being, where love, compassion, and understanding flow effortlessly. It is the end of the illusion of separation and the beginning of a profound sense of oneness with all that is.

In this awakened state, you no longer see yourself as a separate entity struggling against the world; instead, you recognize that you are an integral part of the vast, boundless universe. Your actions become infused with a sense of purpose that transcends personal gain, driven by a desire to contribute to the greater good.

So, is awakening worth it? Absolutely. It is the most profound, transformative experience one can undergo, leading to a life of authenticity, clarity, and unwavering inner peace. It is the ultimate liberation, freeing you from the confines of the ego and allowing you to live in harmony with the flow of life. The journey may be challenging, but the rewards are beyond measure.

Allow the truth to be inconvenient. Recognize you are not the character playing the game, you are the Light of Consciousness watching the character play. Game over.

Namaste.
